An audience in a circle, two bodies squashing, two stories touching, all drowned in a pool of good intentions. ‘I'm not a hero’ is a physical theatre creation by Kevin Blaser and Faustino Blanchut. The project addresses the theme of heroism and its contemporary manifestations. Based on the assumption that being a hero or heroine today is the act of stepping out of one's comfort zone. To act in everyday situations in which the other person would need help, the authors question the forces that act in the opposite direction. The title of the show refers to an excuse behind which we hide in order not to expose ourselves. In order not to run the risk of being vulnerable and to justify our inability to escape, at times, from a passivity that keeps us in the comfort and warmth of anonymity.
