Program Fira B! 2026

Altarpiece in Two Parts is a dance and organ music piece conceived for ecclesiastical spaces, which proposes the creation of an artistic object where the sonority of baroque organ music and the gestures of contemporary dance are combined. The work aims to act as a speaker for the organ heritage of the Balearic Islands from a perspective of contemporary creation, drawing a dialogue between artistic interests of a sacred nature.

The bursts of movement at the end of the piece, in dialogue with the music, evoke a return to situations that we thought were overcome. The upward spiral and the final cataclysm imbue them with an inescapable gravity. Falls into the abyss? The lifting of the performers’ torsos in a breathy attitude, which reverberates in the silence before returning to normal, resonates with Walter Benjamin’s reading of Paul Klee’s Angelus Novus.
