S'ALBUFERA - contemporary dance duo created and performed by Mariona Jaume and Maya Triay.
Nature, sustainable ecosystem. We are part of and are nature. A landscape, a specific physical state, precise sensations. This lagoon is not in Alcúdia, nor in Valencia, nor in Menorca, but in our sensory imagination. It is our albufera. A place of nature in which we walk, live and coexist. We are nature and we dance cohabitation. With a civilized aesthetic, a beautiful gaze takes care of drawing and capturing this landscape. We are the lagoon itself, we are mud, feet, animals, leaves, people, eyes. We recognize and respect it. We remember it, we imagine it, we invent it and we dance it. We have created a landscape, and we are zooming into it.

Maya Triay and Mariona Jaume began collaborating in 2022 through the Art Jove Programme of the Balearic Islands.
In 2023, the project S’ALBUFERA was born in an embryonic form. It received a creation grant from the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics and premiered as a work for unconventional spaces at Palma Dansa 2024. It has toured festivals such as La Mercè, Escena Patrimonio, FiraB!, and Festival Z. The tour continued in 2025 with the support of Magrana Arts, at Washington DC Spain Arts and Culture, Sismògraf, Festival Dansillot, Menorca en Dansa, Fira Tàrrega, among others. In 2026, the piece joined the Circuito Danza a Escena and is touring venues across mainland Spain; the tour continues.
In parallel, and organically, the company was legally established under the name ESCENA MOVIMENT, SL. It also received the emerging dance co-production support from Teatre Principal de Palma and premiered NUS on 14 and 15 February, with three sold-out performances. In addition, NUS is supported by EiMa Creació, l’Animal a l’Esquena, Teatre de Capdepera, Espai Cos, Room 34, and other agents from the Balearic performing arts scene. Its national and international distribution continues to be handled by Magrana Arts.
