Cul-de-sac is set in the near future, where humans have ceased to be at the center of debates and policies and have become mere objects. Gentrification, tourism-driven changes, and repression plague the city. In this dystopian context, two women seem willing to do anything to reclaim their lost dignity. However, the journey they must undertake will not be easy, because the struggle—the only possible faith they have left—is a path full of doubts and contradictions.
Cul-de-sac is a contemporary philosophical tragedy exploring the limits of power and ethics, and the possibility of rebellion against oppression and injustice. This multidisciplinary work, through a dreamlike and cinematic aesthetic, proposes a complex narrative in which sound, staging, and lighting engage in dialogue with the inner world of the characters.
Artistic team:
Coproduction: Cia. Clandestines and Teatre Principal de Palma
We are a young, entrepreneurial artistic team with an inclusive vision, led and mostly composed of women. We are committed to new models of creation and organization within the sector, questioning and denouncing social dynamics through stage practice. The team was founded in 2024, emerging from the Cul-de-sac project, originally created as microtheater in 2020 by Núria Fiol, Núria Sbert, and Joan Tomàs Martínez. After rewriting and refining the piece, Mar Fiol, Gypsy Nel·lo, and Jasmina Ferrer joined the team.
