There are undeniable similarities between O’o and its ornithological namesake, the Ō’Ō, a bird native to Hawaii, renowned for its melodious song and mysterious harmonies...But while the unfortunate bird is now a thing of the past, the story is just beginning for the duo, whose career began in Barcelona.
Composed of childhood friends Victoria Suter and Mathieu Daubigné, the duo joyfully blends (in French and English) experimental pop, electronica, and chanson. A unique and offbeat mix that evokes the lyrical accents of Kate Bush, the dreaminess of Björk, or even the groove of Little Dragon, distinguished by its vocal inventiveness and meticulous production.
It was in France, under the tall pine trees and in the end-of-the-world atmosphere of a small village in the southwest, that O'o composed their latest album, “Songs of Wishes and Bones,” an anthology of stories between light and darkness, released on the demanding label InFiné.
